In August of 20XX, a gateway into a parallel planet, known as the"Gate," unexpectedly appeared in Ginza, Tokyo. Soldiers and monsters poured outside of the portal, turning the shopping district into a inferno. The Japan Ground-Self Defence Force immediately took action and pushed the fantasy creatures back again to the"Gate." To facilitate discussions and prepare yourself for future conflicts, the JGSDF dispatched the 3rd Reconnaissance Team into the"Particular Area" at the other side of the Gate. Youji Itami, a JSDF officer as well as a 33-year-old otaku, was appointed as the pioneer of the Team. Amid strikes from enemy troops the team seen a variety of places and learnt alot about tradition and the culture. Thanks for their own efforts in humanitarian relief, although with some difficulties they were gradually equipped to reach out to the natives. They had a demig, a sorceress and a cute elf
