Nova Prime is now the new dwelling of mankind, 1000 years after cataclysmic events forced mankind's escape from Earth. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his family, ready to be a dad to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm hurts the craft of Kitai and Cypher, they crash land on a unfamiliar and dangerous Earth.
