A Fire in the Cold Season
A murmur in the midst of Newfoundland's huge woodlands and mill towns. In the wake of a gruesome discovery, a fur trapper and a grieving mother-to-be are brought together by the grisly discovery. Scott is desirous of finding purpose in his life. A strong-willed yet fragile Mona frustrates her. It's not long until the two find themselves in the midst of a fight to pay off the debts of a guy who was murdered. After being pursued by thugs, they devise a strategy to flee.
